The Goodyear Ultra Grip 9 is a new tyre, evolved from the Ultra Grip 8 and all of its technology. Award winning and recommended by most of the German tests!

This is the most impressive winter tyre technology on the market today and we're seeing excellent things from this winter performer. This winter tyre won our tyre test 2015-2015 before the magazines have had a chance to test it - this is because the developments made to this tyre were made to last years winner; the Goodyear Ultra Grip 8!

The Ultra Grip 8 was well known as the best in many areas including grip on dry cold roads, aquaplaining resistance and of course grip in the snow - the research and development that has been put into this evolved pattern has been in specific areas of braking distances and grip in the snow using goodyear's latest 3D BIS Technology®, improved aqua-plaining performance and fuel efficiency which has improved as much as 30% in some tyre sizes.

Performance is generally the area of consideration given most attention however price is a always a big consideration as you can easily spend over double the price from an entry level winter tyre to the most premim winter tyre. The Ultra Grip 9 is excellent value at just over £65 per corner including VAT, fitting & balancing to wheels and delivery for a common 205/55 R16 size. Also during the season, Goodyear will run a fuel voucher promotion which will offer a redeemable fuel voucher when you buy 4 winter tyres. It is always important to consider price, because if you are unfortunate enough to get a puncture and you need to buy a replacement sharpish, you get stung for as much as 50% more from a chain or independant garage.

So in conclusion, overall with everything considered we recommend and choose ourselves the Goodyear Ultra Grip 9.

Please note that the Goodyear Ultra Grip 9 is not available in all sizes. However, the new Ultra Grip Performance Generation 1 covers most remaining sizes and this does not dissapoint!
